The 110th running of the Boston Marathon is in the books, with more than 20,000 runners starting facing 26.2 miles of exhilaration and torture on their way over Heartbreak Hill to Boston. It was a festive day in much of the city - helped along by a Red Sox win at Fenway Park. Kenyan Robert Cheruiyot set a new men's record, winning in 2:07:14, while Kenyan Rita Jetpoo won the women's division in 2:23:38. You can visit the official Boston Athletic Association site for details. But the best way to feel the pain and pleasure of the marathon runner is to check out these blogs, most of which come from inside the pack. Some ran for the sheer challenge, some to raise money for charity, some because they needed a finish line to reward them for the months of conditioning. And there are few moments in amateur sport as sweet as finishing. Maybe one of them will inspire you to start training for 2007. Related Top Ten Sources: Runners | Climbing | Red Sox | Boston
